November 22, 2023: Lafayette, LA 70508 The St. Thomas More Cougars basketball team scored 40 points and restricted the visiting Sam Houston Broncos to 32 in the Cougars non-league victory on Wednesday.
The Cougars now sport a 4-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to New Iberia for a non-league contest on Tuesday, December 5. St. Thomas More will battle a Yellowjackets team coming off a 45-44 non-league win over Assumption (Napoleonville, LA). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 4-1.
The Broncos (2-3) will now prepare for their contest against Leesville (Leesville, LA). The Wampus Cats come into the non-league contest with a 2-0 record. In their last contest, Leesville prevailed over Pineville (Pineville, LA), 53-31, in a non-league contest.
