Lyford Bulldogs (Lyford, TX) supporters left the game happy Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting Port Isabel Tarpons (Port Isabel, TX), 55-48 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Lyford advances its record to 3-0 on the year. The Bulldogs travel to Valley View (Pharr, TX) to meet the Tigers in a non-league match on Monday, November 25. The Tigers enter the match with a record of 1-2.

The Tarpons now own a 0-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Weslaco East for a non-league match on Tuesday, November 26. Port Isabel will meet a Wildcats squad coming off a 84-65 non-league loss to Centennial (Burleson, TX). The Wildcats record now stands at 4-1.
