Illinois High School Basketball - Mattoon tops Rantoul
November 25, 2023: Rantoul, IL 61866 Mattoon Greenwave (Mattoon, IL) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Rantoul Eagles (Rantoul, IL), 72-60 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Mattoon upgrades its record to 2-2 on the campaign. The Greenwave travel to Mahomet-Seymour (Mahomet, IL) to play the Bulldogs in a Apollo bout on Thursday, November 30. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 1-3. Mahomet-Seymour won 72-55 in their recent non-league bout against Cahokia (Cahokia, IL)
Next up, the Eagles play the Morton Potters (Morton, IL) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 1. Rantoul will attempt to upgrade on its 1-3 season record. The Potters come into the bout with a 4-0 record after their 62-43 non-league win over Pontiac (Pontiac, IL).
