Illinois High School Basketball - Rantoul ripped by Mt. Zion
February 5, 2024: Mt. Zion, IL 62549 The Mt. Zion Braves basketball team scored 79 points and held the visiting Rantoul Eagles to 39 in the Braves non-league triumph on Monday.
The Braves now sport a 25-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Charleston for a Apollo contest on Wednesday, February 7. Mt. Zion will battle a Trojans team coming off a 67-45 league win over Effingham (Effingham, IL). The Trojans record now stands at 11-15.
The Eagles (5-16) will now prepare for their contest against St. Joseph-Ogden (St. Joseph, IL). The Spartans enter the Illini Prairie contest with a 21-6 record. In their last contest, St. Joseph-Ogden triumphed over Riverton (Riverton, IL), 74-49, in a non-league contest.
