Illinois High School Basketball - Mahomet-Seymour crushes Rantoul
January 3, 2024: Rantoul, IL 61866 Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs (Mahomet, IL) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Rantoul Eagles (Rantoul, IL), 75-49 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Mahomet-Seymour upgrades its record to 8-8 on the season. The Bulldogs travel to Mattoon (Mattoon, IL) to play the Greenwave in a Apollo bout on Thursday, January 11. The Greenwave go into the bout with a record of 9-8. Mattoon won 52-47 in their recent league bout against Charleston (Charleston, IL)
Next up, the Eagles play the Paxton-Buckley-Loda Panthers (Paxton, IL) in a Illini Prairie bout, on Friday, January 5. Rantoul will attempt to upgrade on its 2-11 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 4-11 record after their 55-49 non-league win over Iroquois West (Gilman, IL).
