December 8, 2023: Mahomet, IL 61853 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs (Mahomet, IL) and the visiting Effingham Flaming Hearts (Effingham, IL), saw Mahomet-Seymour's basketball squad wallop Effingham by a tally of 59-37.
With the victory, Mahomet-Seymour improves its record to 4-4 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Taylorville (Taylorville, IL) to play the Tornadoes in a Apollo challenge on Tuesday, December 12. The Tornadoes come into the challenge with a record of 0-5. Taylorville lost 57-32 in their recent non-league challenge against Rochester (Rochester, IL)
Next up, the Flaming Hearts play the Mt. Vernon Rams (Mt. Vernon, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, December 9. Effingham will attempt to improve on its 1-7 season record. The Rams come into the challenge with a 4-2 record after their 50-48 non-league loss to Glenwood (Chatham, IL).
