Niobrara/Verdigre Cougars (Niobrara, NE) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Bloomfield Bees (Bloomfield, NE), 61-52 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Niobrara/Verdigre upgrades its record to 3-2 on the campaign. The Cougars host Crofton (Crofton, NE) to play the Warriors in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 14. The Warriors come into the bout with a record of 5-0.

Next up, the Bees play the Wakefield Trojans (Wakefield, NE) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 12. Bloomfield will attempt to upgrade on its 2-3 season record. The Trojans come into the bout with a 1-3 record after their 58-34 non-league loss to Battle Creek (Battle Creek, NE).
