Illinois Valley Central Grey Ghosts (Chillicothe, IL) supporters were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad overcome the visiting Monticello Sages (Monticello, IL), 41-32 in a league challenge.

With the victory, Illinois Valley Central improves its record to 7-4 on the campaign. The Grey Ghosts host Olympia (Stanford, IL) to confront the Spartans in a Illini Prairie challenge on Monday, December 13. The Spartans come into the challenge with a record of 7-2.

Next up, the Sages confront the Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond Knights (Arthur, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, December 13. Monticello will attempt to improve on its 7-2 season record. The Knights come into the challenge with a 9-1 record after their 61-36 non-league loss to Mattoon (Mattoon, IL).
