Iowa High School Basketball - Columbus tops Wapello
December 12, 2023: Wapello, IA 52653 Columbus Wildcats (Columbus Junction, IA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Wapello Indians (Wapello, IA), 60-47 in a league bout.
With the victory, Columbus upgrades its record to 1-3 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Winfield-Mt. Union (Winfield, IA) to play the Wolves in a SEI - North bout on Friday, December 15. The Wolves come into the bout with a record of 5-1. Winfield-Mt. Union won 63-35 in their recent league bout against Hillcrest Academy (Kalona, IA)
Next up, the Indians play the Highland Huskies (Riverside, IA) in a SEI - North bout, on Friday, December 15. Wapello will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record. The Huskies come into the bout with a 1-4 record after their 76-22 non-league loss to WACO (Wayland, IA).
