In Friday's league contest, the host Reading Rangers basketball team scored a close 51-45 triumph over the Springport Spartans.

The Rangers (2-1) will now prepare for their contest against Bronson (Bronson, MI). The Vikings go into the Big 8 contest with a 2-0 record.

In their next game, the Spartans confront the Hastings Saxons (Hastings, MI) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, December 17. Springport will attempt to better on its 2-1 season record. The Saxons go into the contest with a 2-2 record after their 43-32 league loss to Harper Creek (Battle Creek, MI).
