December 14, 2022: East Machias, ME 04630 Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the Washington Academy Raiders (East Machias, ME) and the visiting John Bapst Memorial Crusaders (Bangor, ME), saw Washington Academy's basketball squad hold off John Bapst Memorial by a tally of 50-45.
With the victory, Washington Academy improves its record to 2-0 on the campaign. The Raiders travel to Foxcroft Academy (Dover-Foxcroft, ME) to play the Ponies in a B North challenge on Saturday, December 17. The Ponies come into the challenge with a record of 2-0. Foxcroft Academy won 82-27 in their recent non-league challenge against Central (East Corinth, ME)
Next up, the Crusaders play the Presque Isle Wildcats (Presque Isle, ME) in a B North challenge, on Saturday, December 17. John Bapst Memorial will attempt to improve on its 0-2 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 0-2 record after their 67-49 league loss to Old Town (Old Town, ME).
