Maine High School Basketball - Orono thwarts Washington Academy
December 27, 2022: Orono, ME 04473 The Orono Riots (Orono, ME) basketball knocked off the visiting Washington Academy Raiders (East Machias, ME), 58-40 in Tuesday's league test.
The Riots (5-0) will now prepare for their test against Ellsworth (Ellsworth, ME). The Eagles go into the B North test with a 5-1 record. In their last test, Ellsworth notched a victory over Old Town (Old Town, ME), 60-58, in a league test.
The Raiders now own a 2-2 record. They play next when they host Mount View for a B North test on Thursday, December 29. Washington Academy will encounter a Mustangs squad coming off a 69-40 non-league win over Leavitt (Turner, ME). The Mustangs record now stands at 3-1.
