Cornerstone Charter Cardinals (Greensboro, NC) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Triad Math and Science Academy Bengals (Greensboro, NC), 46-36 in a league bout.

With the victory, Cornerstone Charter upgrades its record to 3-6 on the campaign. The Cardinals host Carver (Winston-Salem, NC) to confront the Yellowjackets in a 1A Northwest Piedmont challenge on Tuesday, January 2. The Yellowjackets come into the challenge with a record of 3-3.

Next up, the Bengals confront the Millennium Lions (Mount Airy, NC) in a 1A Northwest Piedmont challenge, on Wednesday, January 3. Triad Math and Science Academy will attempt to improve on its 0-6 season record. The Lions come into the challenge with a 0-8 record after their 97-23 league loss to Piedmont Classical (Browns Summit, NC).
