The Cherryville Ironmen basketball team (Cherryville, NC), dropped 72-59 in Friday's non-league battle with the visiting Piedmont Community Charter Patriots (Gastonia, NC)

The Patriots now sport a 5-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Sugar Creek for a 1A Metro 8 battle on Tuesday, December 19. Piedmont Community Charter will battle a Wildcats team coming off a 85-26 non-league win over Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy (Huntersville, NC). The Wildcats record now stands at 6-4.

The Ironmen (6-3) will now prepare for their battle against Thomas Jefferson (Mooresboro, NC). The Gryphons come into the non-league battle with a 2-3 record.
