In Friday's non-league match, the host South Mecklenburg Sabres basketball team scored a tight 46-40 triumph over the Palisades Pumas.

In their next game, the Sabres face the Mooresville Blue Devils (Mooresville, NC) in a non-league match, on Tuesday, December 19. South Mecklenburg will attempt to move on its 6-2 season record. The Blue Devils enter the match with a 4-1 record after their 48-13 non-league win over Statesville (Statesville, NC).

With the defeat, Palisades moves to 7-3 on the year. The Pumas travel to Independence (Charlotte, NC) to face the Patriots in a non-league match on Thursday, December 28.
