Mississinawa Valley Blackhawks (Union City, OH) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Newton Local Indians (Pleasant Hill, OH), 55-49 in a league bout.

With the win, Mississinawa Valley upgrades its record to 1-4 on the season. The Blackhawks host Arcanum (Arcanum, OH) to clash with the Trojans in a Western Ohio bout on Tuesday, December 20. The Trojans go into the bout with a record of 2-4. Arcanum lost 56-28 in their recent league bout against Tri-Village (New Madison, OH)

Next up, the Indians clash with the Legacy Christian Academy Knights (Xenia, OH) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, December 17. Newton Local will attempt to upgrade on its 1-3 season record. The Knights go into the bout with a 5-3 record after their 53-50 league win over Miami Valley (Dayton, OH).
