The Carmel Christian Cougars (Matthews, NC) basketball nipped the host Concord Academy Eagles (Concord, NC), 78-75 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Cougars (7-7) will now prepare for their test against Lake Norman (Mooresville, NC). The Wildcats go into the non-league test with a 9-0 record. In their last test, Lake Norman got by Statesville (Statesville, NC), 97-56, in a non-league test.

The Eagles now own a 8-7 record. They play next when they travel to Covenant Day for a non-league test on Thursday, December 21. Concord Academy will encounter a Lions squad coming off a 77-38 non-league win over Union Academy (Monroe, NC). The Lions record now stands at 6-5.
