Maine High School Basketball - Spruce Mountain knocks off Winthrop
December 18, 2024: Jay, ME 04239 In Wednesday's non-league contest, the host Spruce Mountain Phoenix basketball team scored a good 48-36 win over the Winthrop Ramblers.
The Phoenix (3-0) will now prepare for their contest against Yarmouth (Yarmouth, ME). The Clippers come into the B South contest with a 2-2 record. In their last contest, Yarmouth defeated Waynflete (Portland, ME), 38-12, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Ramblers battle the Old Orchard Beach Seagulls (Old Orchard Beach, ME) in a C South contest, on Saturday, December 21. Winthrop will attempt to better on its 3-3 season record. The Seagulls come into the contest with a 1-3 record after their 48-23 non-league loss to St. Dominic (Lewiston, ME).
