New Washington Mustangs (New Washington, IN) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Eastern Musketeers (Pekin, IN), 64-54 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, New Washington upgrades its record to 2-6 on the campaign. The Mustangs host White River Valley (Switz City, IN) to play the Wolverines in a non-league bout on Wednesday, December 27. The Wolverines come into the bout with a record of 2-4. White River Valley lost 49-42 in their recent league bout against Bloomfield (Bloomfield, IN)

Next up, the Musketeers play the Floyd Central Highlanders (Floyds Knobs, IN) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 29. Eastern will attempt to upgrade on its 3-5 season record. The Highlanders come into the bout with a 2-6 record after their 76-67 non-league loss to Evansville Harrison (Evansville, IN).
