In Friday's league contest, the host Mathews Mustangs basketball team scored a good 89-75 triumph over the St. John Fighting Herald.

The Mustangs (5-1) will now prepare for their contest against Kennedy Catholic (Hermitage, PA). The go into the non-league contest with a 1-3 record. In their last contest, Kennedy Catholic topped Reynolds (Greenville, PA), 62-29, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Fighting Herald battle the Chalker Wildcats (Southington, OH) in a Northeastern contest, on Saturday, December 21. St. John will attempt to better on its 3-2 season record. The Wildcats go into the contest with a 2-3 record after their 58-31 league win over Bloomfield (North Bloomfield, OH).
