SouthWest Edgecombe Cougars (Pinetops, NC) supporters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the visiting Rocky Mount Prep Jaguars (Rocky Mount, NC), 79-67 in a non-league match.

With the victory, SouthWest Edgecombe advances its record to 7-2 on the year. The Cougars host North Edgecombe (Tarboro, NC) to face the Warriors in a non-league match on Saturday, December 28. The Warriors enter the match with a record of 4-4. North Edgecombe won 69-59 in their recent non-league match against Tarboro (Tarboro, NC)

The Jaguars now own a 2-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Northwest Halifax for a 1A Tar Roanoke match on Friday, January 3.
