North Carolina High School Basketball - North Edgecombe overwhelmed by SouthWest Edgecombe

In Saturday's non-league test, the SouthWest Edgecombe Cougars (Pinetops, NC) basketball squad trounced the visiting North Edgecombe Warriors (Tarboro, NC), by a final score of 67-33.

Next, the Cougars clash with the North Pitt Panthers (Bethel, NC) in a 2A Eastern Plains test, on Friday, January 3. SouthWest Edgecombe will attempt to upgrade on its 8-2 season record. The Panthers come into the test with a 3-7 record after their 77-59 non-league loss to J.H. Rose (Greenville, NC).

With the loss, North Edgecombe falls to 4-5 on the campaign. The Warriors host Southeast Halifax (Halifax, NC) to confront the Trojans in a 1A Tar Roanoke game on Friday, January 3. The Trojans go into the game with a record of 2-6. Southeast Halifax lost 64-62 in their recent non-league game against Howard (Wilson, NC)
