In Friday's non-league contest, the host Fernley Vaqueros basketball team scored a close 50-45 triumph over the South Tahoe Vikings.

The Vaqueros (11-3) will now prepare for their contest against Reno (Reno, NV). The Huskies go into the non-league contest with a 8-3 record. In their last contest, Reno nipped McQueen (Reno, NV), 60-26, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Vikings battle the McQueen Lancers (Reno, NV) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, December 28. South Tahoe will attempt to better on its 4-8 season record. The Lancers go into the contest with a 3-7 record after their 69-38 non-league win over Wooster (Reno, NV).
