December 27, 2024: Lewisburg, WV 24901 Greenbrier East Spartans (Lewisburg, WV) boosters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the visiting Ripley Vikings (Ripley, WV), 68-26 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Greenbrier East upgrades its record to 9-0 on the year. The Spartans host Mingo Central (Matewan, WV) to face the Miners in a non-league match on Saturday, December 28. The Miners enter the match with a record of 3-2. Mingo Central lost 63-38 in their recent league match against Wyoming East (New Richmond, WV)
The Vikings now sport a 1-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Lincoln for a non-league match on Saturday, January 4. Ripley will face a Cougars squad coming off a 52-41 non-league loss to Hampshire (Romney, WV). The Cougars record now stands at 1-4.
