The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC) and the visiting East Rutherford Cavaliers (Forest City, NC), observed Shelby's basketball team edge East Rutherford by a score of 74-70.

The Golden Lions (4-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Butler (Matthews, NC). The Bulldogs come into the non-league challenge with a 7-5 record. In their last challenge, Butler edged Northwest Cabarrus (Concord, NC), 51-41, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Cavaliers encounter the Northwest Cabarrus Trojans (Concord, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, December 30. East Rutherford will attempt to improve on its 2-9 season record. The Trojans come into the challenge with a 6-4 record after their 51-41 non-league loss to Butler (Matthews, NC).
