The Cotton Center Elks routed the visiting Wilson Mustangs basketball team by a final score of 49-26 in Thursday's non-league game.

In their next game, the Elks face the Whitharral Panthers (Whitharral, TX) in a 1A Region I District 7 game, on Tuesday, January 3. Cotton Center will attempt to move on its 8-10 season record.

With the defeat, Wilson moves to 7-16 on the year. The Mustangs travel to Petersburg (Petersburg, TX) to face the Buffaloes in a 1A Region I District 6 game on Tuesday, January 3. The Buffaloes enter the game with a record of 4-5. Petersburg lost 80-33 in their recent non-league game against Highland Park (Amarillo, TX)
