Amherst Bulldogs (Amherst, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Cotton Center Elks (Cotton Center, TX), 59-37 in a league bout.

With the victory, Amherst upgrades its record to 12-6 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Anton (Anton, TX) to play the Bulldogs in a 1A Region I District 7 bout on Friday, February 3. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 1-13. Anton lost 69-40 in their recent league bout against Whitharral (Whitharral, TX)

Next up, the Elks play the Meadow Broncos (Meadow, TX) in a 1A Region I District 7 bout, on Friday, February 3. Cotton Center will attempt to upgrade on its 7-20 season record. The Broncos come into the bout with a 8-11 record after their 55-44 league loss to Morton (Morton, TX).
