The Smoky Mountain Mustangs (Sylva, NC) basketball edged the host Cherokee Braves (Cherokee, NC), 81-77 in Tuesday's non-league bout.

The Mustangs now possess a 2-0 record. They play next when they travel to Swain County for a non-league bout on Thursday, December 5. Smoky Mountain will play a Maroon Devils team coming off a 73-72 non-league loss to Hiwassee Dam (Murphy, NC). The Maroon Devils record now stands at 0-1.

With the loss, Cherokee falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Braves travel to Smoky Mountain (Sylva, NC) to play the Mustangs in a non-league bout on Friday, December 6.
