Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Porter Ridge Pirates (Indian Trail, NC) and the visiting Parkwood Wolf Pack (Monroe, NC), saw Porter Ridge's basketball squad overcome Parkwood by a tally of 60-44.

With the victory, Porter Ridge improves its record to 6-7 on the campaign. The Pirates host Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC) to confront the Mavericks in a 4A Conference 58 contest on Tuesday, January 3. The Mavericks come into the contest with a record of 9-4. Marvin Ridge won 59-29 in their recent non-league contest against Greenville (Greenville, SC)

The Wolf Pack (10-4) will now prepare for their contest against West Stanly (Oakboro, NC). The Colts come into the 2A/3A Conference 44 contest with a 3-9 record. In their last contest, West Stanly was defeated by Piedmont (Monroe, NC), 53-49, in a non-league contest.
