In Friday's league outing, the Porter Ridge Pirates (Indian Trail, NC) basketball squad beat the host Sun Valley Spartans (Monroe, NC), by a margin of 50-38.

The Pirates (10-8) will now prepare for their outing against Piedmont (Monroe, NC). The Panthers go into the 4A Conference 58 outing with a 6-11 record. In their last outing, Piedmont was beaten by Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC), 84-13, in a league outing.
