Wausa Vikings (Wausa, NE) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Boyd County Spartans (Spencer, NE), 57-51 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Wausa upgrades its record to 5-4 on the season. The Vikings host Lutheran-Northeast (Norfolk, NE) to play the Eagles in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 4. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 11-0. Lutheran-Northeast won 69-23 in their recent non-league bout against Neligh-Oakdale (Neligh, NE)

Next up, the Spartans play the Santee Warriors (Santee, NE) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 2. Boyd County will attempt to upgrade on its 4-4 season record. The Warriors go into the bout with a 5-2 record after their 68-42 non-league loss to Ponca (Ponca, NE).
