Virginia High School Basketball - Tidewater Academy nips Southampton Academy
December 5, 2022: Wakefield, VA 23888 Tidewater Academy Warriors (Wakefield, VA) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Southampton Academy Raiders (Courtland, VA), 28-23 in a league bout.
With the victory, Tidewater Academy upgrades its record to 4-0 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot (Powhatan, VA) to play the Knights in a bout on Friday, December 9. The Knights come into the bout with a record of 1-2. Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot lost 38-25 in their recent non-league bout against Banner Christian (Chesterfield, VA)
Next up, the Raiders play the Fuqua Falcons (Farmville, VA) in a VISAA Division IV bout, on Wednesday, December 7. Southampton Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record. The Falcons come into the bout with a 2-2 record after their 47-33 league loss to Kenston Forest (Blackstone, VA).
