Meridian Yellowjackets (Meridian, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Penelope Wolverines (Penelope, TX), 61-27 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Meridian upgrades its record to 4-1 on the season. The Yellowjackets travel to Hico (Hico, TX) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 8. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 0-6.

Next up, the Wolverines play the Avalon Eagles (Avalon, TX) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 8. Penelope will attempt to upgrade on its 3-5 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 5-4 record after their 73-45 non-league loss to Ovilla Christian (Red Oak, TX).
