Meridian Yellowjackets (Meridian, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Blum Bobcats (Blum, TX), 61-50 in a league bout.

With the win, Meridian upgrades its record to 14-7 on the season. The Yellowjackets travel to Morgan (Morgan, TX) to clash with the Eagles in a 1A Region III District 20 bout on Friday, January 20. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 3-3.

Next up, the Bobcats clash with the Iredell Dragons (Iredell, TX) in a 1A Region III District 20 bout, on Friday, January 20. Blum will attempt to upgrade on its 3-5 season record. The Dragons go into the bout with a 5-13 record after their 74-22 league loss to Meridian (Meridian, TX).
