Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Meridian Yellowjackets (Meridian, TX) and the visiting Walnut Springs Hornets (Walnut Springs, TX), saw Meridian's basketball squad wallop Walnut Springs by a tally of 55-29.

With the victory, Meridian improves its record to 16-7 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets travel to Covington (Covington, TX) to confront the Owls in a 1A Region III District 20 challenge on Friday, January 27. The Owls come into the challenge with a record of 18-6. Covington won 55-27 in their recent league challenge against Kopperl (Kopperl, TX)

Next up, the Hornets confront the Iredell Dragons (Iredell, TX) in a 1A Region III District 20 challenge, on Friday, January 27. Walnut Springs will attempt to improve on its 3-7 season record.
