Sandhills Valley Mavericks (Stapleton, NE) boosters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the host Anselmo-Merna Coyotes (Merna, NE), 49-39 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Sandhills Valley upgrades its record to 1-0 on the year. The Mavericks host Sumner-Eddyville-Miller (Sumner, NE) to face the Mustangs in a non-league match on Monday, December 9. The Mustangs enter the match with a record of 2-0. Sumner-Eddyville-Miller won 53-36 in their recent non-league match against Wilcox-Hildreth (Wilcox, NE)
