Paxton Tigers (Paxton, NE) supporters left the game happy Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the host Sandhills Valley Mavericks (Stapleton, NE), 34-31 in a league match.

With the victory, Paxton advances its record to 13-6 on the year. The Tigers host South Platte (Big Springs, NE) to face the Blue Knights in a non-league match on Saturday, February 8. The Blue Knights enter the match with a record of 11-8. South Platte won 66-36 in their recent league challenge against Arthur County (Arthur, NE)

In their next game, the Mavericks encounter the Mullen Broncos (Mullen, NE) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, February 13. Sandhills Valley will attempt to improve on its 12-5 season record.
