In Friday's league contest, the host Screven County Gamecocks basketball team scored a close 60-55 triumph over the Metter Tigers.

The Gamecocks (5-1) will now prepare for their contest against Statesboro (Statesboro, GA). The Blue Devils go into the non-league contest with a 2-3 record. In their last contest, Statesboro nipped Portal (Portal, GA), 51-46, in a non-league contest.
