In Saturday's non-league contest, the host Hatch Valley Bears basketball team scored a good 71-63 win over the Reserve Mountaineers.

The Bears (2-1) will now prepare for their contest against Santa Teresa (Santa Teresa, NM). The Desert Warriors come into the non-league contest with a 1-2 record. In their last contest, Santa Teresa was topped by Gadsden (Anthony, NM), 53-41, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Mountaineers battle the Cloudcroft Bears (Cloudcroft, NM) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, December 12. Reserve will attempt to better on its 0-2 season record. The Bears come into the contest with a 2-3 record after their 55-52 non-league loss to Tularosa (Tularosa, NM).
