Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the West Craven Eagles (Vanceboro, NC) and the host New Bern Bears (New Bern, NC), saw West Craven's basketball squad hold off New Bern by a tally of 59-57.

With the victory, West Craven improves its record to 4-0 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Pamlico County (Bayboro, NC) to play the Hurricanes in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, December 12. The Hurricanes come into the challenge with a record of 3-3. Pamlico County won 54-40 in their recent non-league challenge against Havelock (Havelock, NC)

Next up, the Bears play the Havelock Rams (Havelock, NC) in a 3A/4A Big Carolina challenge, on Tuesday, December 12. New Bern will attempt to improve on its 4-3 season record. The Rams come into the challenge with a 2-5 record after their 54-40 non-league loss to Pamlico County (Bayboro, NC).
