The Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy Gryphons nipped the host Mitchell Mountaineers basketball squad by a final score of 72-69 in Tuesday's non-league outing.

Next, the Gryphons clash with the Carolina International Comets (Concord, NC) in a Catawba River 1A/2A/3A game, on Friday, December 12. Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 3-4 season record. The Comets come into the outing with a 2-5 record after their 74-28 non-league loss to Chambers (Charlotte, NC).
