North Carolina High School Basketball - Ashe County holds off Hibriten
February 1, 2022: West Jefferson, NC 28694 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) and the visiting Hibriten Panthers (Lenoir, NC), saw Ashe County's basketball squad hold off Hibriten by a tally of 74-71.
With the victory, Ashe County improves its record to 10-9 on the campaign. The Huskies travel to Freedom (Morganton, NC) to confront the Patriots in a 3A/4A Conference 52 challenge on Friday, February 4. The Patriots come into the challenge with a record of 13-6. Freedom won 78-66 in their recent league challenge against South Caldwell (Hudson, NC)
Next up, the Panthers confront the Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) in a 3A/4A Conference 52 challenge, on Friday, February 4. Hibriten will attempt to improve on its 8-11 season record. The Pioneers come into the challenge with a 6-13 record after their 71-56 league loss to Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC).
