Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Alexander Spartans (Albany, OH) and the host Athens Bulldogs (The Plains, OH), saw Alexander's basketball squad hold off Athens by a tally of 42-35.

With the victory, Alexander improves its record to 1-17 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Trimble (Glouster, OH) to confront the Tomcats in a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 3. The Tomcats come into the challenge with a record of 12-6. Trimble lost 64-52 in their recent league challenge against Waterford (Waterford, OH)
