Ohio High School Basketball - Meigs tops Athens
December 12, 2023: Pomeroy, OH 45769 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Meigs Marauders (Pomeroy, OH) and the visiting Athens Bulldogs (The Plains, OH), saw Meigs's basketball squad knock off Athens by a count of 52-42.
With the victory, Meigs upgrades its record to 2-2 on the campaign. The Marauders travel to Nelsonville-York (Nelsonville, OH) to play the Buckeyes in a Tri-Valley I challenge on Friday, December 15. The Buckeyes come into the challenge with a record of 3-1. Nelsonville-York won 70-64 in their recent non-league challenge against Eastern (Reedsville, OH)
Next up, the Bulldogs play the Vinton County Vikings (McArthur, OH) in a Tri-Valley I challenge, on Friday, December 15. Athens will attempt to upgrade on its 1-3 season record. The Vikings come into the challenge with a 4-0 record after their 65-32 league win over River Valley (Bidwell, OH).
