Virginia High School Basketball - Holston thwarts J.I. Burton
February 1, 2024: Norton, VA 24273 The Holston Cavaliers (Damascus, VA) basketball knocked off the host J.I. Burton Black Raiders (Norton, VA), 57-40 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Cavaliers (7-14) will now prepare for their test against Chilhowie (Chilhowie, VA). The Warriors go into the Hogoheegee test with a 13-6 record. In their last test, Chilhowie notched a victory over Rural Retreat (Rural Retreat, VA), 61-44, in a league test.
The Black Raiders now own a 3-13 record. They play next when they travel to Eastside for a Cumberland test on Friday, February 2. J.I. Burton will encounter a Spartans squad coming off a 37-35 league win over Twin Springs (Nickelsville, VA). The Spartans record now stands at 9-8.
