The Permian Panthers (Odessa, TX) basketball knocked off the host Abilene Eagles (Abilene, TX), 68-56 in Friday's league test.

The Panthers (24-7) will now prepare for their test against Frenship (Wolfforth, TX). The Tigers go into the 6A Region I District 2 test with a 28-3 record. In their last test, Frenship notched a victory over San Angelo Central (San Angelo, TX), 64-53, in a league test.

The Eagles now own a 10-19 record. They play next when they travel to Midland Legacy for a 6A Region I District 2 test on Tuesday, February 15. Abilene will encounter a Rebels squad coming off a 39-37 league loss to Permian (Odessa, TX). The Rebels record now stands at 16-14.
