West Virginia High School Basketball - Summers County holds off James Monroe
February 13, 2024: Hinton, WV 25951 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Summers County Bobcats (Hinton, WV) and the visiting James Monroe Mavericks (Lindside, WV), saw Summers County's basketball squad hold off James Monroe by a tally of 47-42.
With the victory, Summers County improves its record to 11-7 on the campaign. The Bobcats travel to River View (Bradshaw, WV) to confront the Raiders in a non-league test on Friday, February 16. The Raiders go into the test with a record of 14-4. River View won 63-50 in their recent non-league test against Phelps (Phelps, KY)
The Mavericks now own a 13-4 record. They play next when they travel to Greenbrier West for a Coalfield A test on Thursday, February 15. James Monroe will encounter a Cavaliers squad coming off a 93-59 league win over Richwood (Richwood, WV). The Cavaliers record now stands at 9-8.
