Michigan High School Basketball - Calumet holds off West Iron County
February 16, 2023: Iron River, MI 49935 Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Calumet Copper Kings (Calumet, MI) and the host West Iron County Wykons (Iron River, MI), saw Calumet's basketball squad hold off West Iron County by a tally of 42-38.
With the victory, Calumet improves its record to 15-4 on the campaign. The Copper Kings host Jeffers (Painesdale, MI) to confront the Jets in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, February 21. The Jets come into the challenge with a record of 8-10.
Next up, the Wykons confront the Westwood Patriots (Ishpeming, MI) in a Western Peninsula challenge, on Tuesday, February 21. West Iron County will attempt to improve on its 10-9 season record. The Patriots come into the challenge with a 5-12 record after their 49-32 non-league win over Manistique (Manistique, MI).
