January 10, 2023: Iron River, MI 49935

Negaunee Miners (Negaunee, MI) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host West Iron County Wykons (Iron River, MI), 43-33 in a league bout.

With the victory, Negaunee upgrades its record to 8-4 on the campaign. The Miners travel to Ishpeming (Ishpeming, MI) to play the Hematites in a Mid-Peninsula bout on Friday, January 13. The Hematites come into the bout with a record of 3-3.

Next up, the Wykons play the Menominee Maroons (Menominee, MI) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 12. West Iron County will attempt to upgrade on its 5-4 season record. The Maroons come into the bout with a 3-6 record after their 61-49 non-league loss to Coleman (Coleman, WI).
