Magruder Colonels (Rockville, MD) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Damascus Hornets (Damascus, MD), 65-52 in a league bout.

With the win, Magruder upgrades its record to 19-2 on the season. The Colonels travel to Sherwood (Sandy Spring, MD) to play the Warriors in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 20. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 17-5. Sherwood lost 66-57 in their recent league bout against Paint Branch (Burtonsville, MD)

Next up, the Hornets play the Whitman Vikings (Bethesda, MD) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 20. Damascus will attempt to upgrade on its 7-11 season record. The Vikings go into the bout with a 16-5 record after their 74-62 league loss to Bethesda-Chevy Chase (Bethesda, MD).
